A Walk In The Clouds (1995)

Review: A Walk In The Clouds is about a chocolate salesman who comes home from WWII and is trying to decide his path in life. He befriends a woman on the bus, and the complicated romance begins. Director Alfonso Arau seems to intentionally film this movie in the style of the great romance movies of the 1950's and delivers with eye-appealing sets and camera work and a throwback soundtrack. The cast playing the roles of the Aragón family all do an excellent job (Anthony Quinn was the star), but Keanu Reeves and Debra Messing leave a little to be desired. Also the writing does not seem very inspired and almost seems choppy in areas. Overall though, this is a pleasant and fun romantic drama. -JNJ
