Waitress (2007)

Review: Waitress takes place in the small-town South, where a talented young woman invents a new pie every day and names it after the situation that inspired it. Keri Russell is very believable as the pie diner server and Adrienne Shelly (who is also the director and writer) and Cheryl Hines (of "Curb Your Enthusiasm" fame) add some laughs as co-workers at the diner. However, it is good ol' Andy Griffith that steals the show with his character's knack for giving age-old wisdom in a slightly more rude way than we are used to seeing from "The Andy Griffith Show" or "Matlock". Jeremy Sisto and Lew Temple round out a good cast performance. -JNJ
