The Prestige (2006)

Viewing Source: Encore

Review: The Prestige has probably the most interesting plot of 2006. It's such a complex movie to watch as two rival magicians in late 1800's London perform more and more daring tricks. After a visit to Nikola Tesla in America, everything changes. The line between what is real and what is a trick is no longer evident, even to the magicians themselves. The writers do a masterful job of blending action, mystery, betrayal, and love to make the perfect story. The star-studded cast of Hugh Jackman, Christian Bale, Michail Caine, Rebecca Hall, Scarlett Johansson, and David Bowie are all wonderful and Christopher Nolan is quickly becoming a superstar director. -JNJ
