The Express (2008)

Viewing Source: Carmike Cinemas Carmike 10 in Stillwater, Oklahoma

Review: The Express may not be well-received in West Virginia for its inaccurate portrayal of WVU's fans in a game in 1959, but overall I found this film very inspiring, especially for those that appreciate college football history or the civil rights movement. Dennis Quaid is just right for the role of Syracuse head football coach Ben Schwartzwalder and it's always fun to see the depiction of the old football uniforms by the various schools. The Kansas Jayhawks in particular looked very intimidating (note: heavy sarcasm). This is an excellent family film, and other than the WVU scene, a good resource for the biography of Ernie Davis, the first African-American to win the Heisman Trophy. -JNJ
