Eagle Eye (2008)

Special Thanks to Carmike Cinemas and Carmike 10 in Stillwater, OK for the showing of Eagle Eye!

Review: Here is a government-conspiracy type of movie in which personal electronics such as cell phones and security cameras are all monitored and controlled by one massive computer in Washington D.C. The plotline will have you groaning "whatever" and rolling your eyes a few times, but makes up for it with creativity and excitement. There was a lot of buzz among the audience before the movie started about "one of the most realistic car-chase scenes ever!" Sadly, this never transpires. The car-chase scene is among many action scenes that are very badly shot and edited and just make you dizzy more than anything. However, that's not to say that there aren't times when the visual effects are really cool. Shia LeBeouf is entertaining as always and for everything inferior in the film, there is something superior to bring the balance back to zero, so to speak. The pace flows very well and the tension is enough to keep you involved in this slightly better-than-average action flick. -JNJ
