The Dark Knight (2008)

Review: Christopher Nolan delivers again with The Dark Knight. It's hard to imagine that Batman Begins could be improved upon, but believe it! This movie does the near impossible by living up to the tremendous hype surrounding it nationwide. Heath Ledger is the star of the show by giving a truly unforgettable performance as The Joker. Aaron Eckhart also gives a career-defining effort as Two-Face and Maggie Gyllenhaal is a noticeable improvement over Katie Holmes. Throw in great acting (as always) by Christian Bale, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, and Michael Caine, and you have a phenomenal star-studded cast. The storyline is surprisingly deep and interesting, and the special effects do not disappoint. All in all, this will go down as one of the greatest films of our generation and it would be a sin if the Academy ignored this for a Best Picture nomination. -JNJ
