Review: Yeah. Not so good. 13 Ghosts is one of those rare times when the original was much improved upon by a remake (Thir13en Ghosts from 2001), and that's not saying much. Sometimes it's easy to get into a line of thinking that newer is better, for example, and then classics such as Gone With The Wind or It's A Wonderful Life show us that newer is definately not always better. On the flip side, watching some of today's undeserved box office hits like Sex And The City or Beverly Hills Chihuahua make me think "I just don't think they ever got this bad in the good ole days." Well, once again it's proven that there are good movies and there are bad movies in every year since the invention of "moving pictures". Pretty bad acting and special effects plagued this movie throughout and I should have taken away more points from the Sets/Props category with those ridiculous glasses (goggles?) that they used throughout the film. Even though I very much understand that it can get much worse, this movie was just dull. If you want to see some better efforts from director William Castle, check out Strait-Jacket, The Tingler, or Homicidal. -JNJ
